"This duo is the new flagship of one of Norway's most active indie labels in the last couple of years, How is Annie Records. With successes such as Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson in 2005 and Sirka Ragnar in 2006, it is Fighterpilot that applies for 2007.
This is monster pop, classical music, magnificent rock, lo-fi avant garde and minimalist electronics stepped down over simple repetitive melodies. Pop songs disguised as mysterious sailors and world wars. Feel free to call it inaccessible, but here there are melodies in layers upon layers. If you just listen. And you have to do that. Preferably lying on a bed.
Old piano, cello, vacuum cleaners, egg dividers and wooden chairs as well as guitar, bass and drums are used here. The result is once again very unorthodox and unique. Think Steve Reich, Max Richter, A Silver Mt. Zion and Explotions in the sky together on nachspiel parties.
Fighterpilot's debut album "Between Homes and Travels" was recorded over 4 years and is a studio project consisting of Morten Samdal (Morfar, Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson and Build Nest, Sleep) and Anders Kojen (Rest of My Life)."
